Experience the rich culture of the Tamang people on this 10-day trek through remote Himalayan villages, terraced fields, and stunning views of Langtang, Ganesh, and Shisha Pangma peaks.
The 10 days Tamang Heritage Trail Trek is a journey into the heart of Nepal's living culture, where ancient traditions and warm hospitality define every step. Designed for those who seek more than just mountain vistas, this 10-day route weaves through remote Tamang villages, offering an intimate look at a way of life that has remained largely unchanged for centuries. As you walk past terraced fields and prayer-flag-draped stupas, the towering peaks of Langtang, Ganesh, and Shisha Pangma form a spectacular backdrop, but the true reward lies in the connections you make along the way.
This trek is a gentle yet deeply rewarding alternative to the busier Himalayan trails. It is crafted for travelers who value cultural immersion over physical endurance, with moderate daily walks allowing ample time to pause, sip tea with a local family, and listen to stories passed down through generations. Every village on the trail offers a unique glimpse into Tamang heritage, from traditional stone houses to vibrant monasteries, ensuring that your journey is as enriching as it is scenic.
Because the trail remains off the beaten path, you will encounter fewer crowds and more authentic moments, such as watching women weave intricate patterns on handlooms or joining a family for a simple meal of dal bhat. The Tamang people, known for their cheerful resilience and deep Buddhist faith, welcome visitors with genuine openness, making each homestay feel like a homecoming. With the Langtang region's rich biodiversity adding splashes of rhododendron forests and birdlife along the way, this trek offers a complete sensory experience that lingers long after you return to Kathmandu.
For travelers with extra time, nearby destinations like the Langtang Valley Trek provide a more challenging extension deeper into the high Himalayas, while a visit to the sacred Gosainkunda Lake offers a spiritual detour through alpine meadows. Alternatively, the serene hill station of Nagarkot, just a short drive from Kathmandu, rewards you with sweeping sunrise views over the entire Himalayan range, making it a perfect post-trek relaxation spot.

“Touch the Himalaya were fantastic! Speedy to get us out in the Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek. Very thorough and clear with pricing and gave us a great price. We trekked with just a guide and carried our own gear. Madan was quick to organise transport, permits, a guide, packing list and an itinerary for our tour all within a day. Moti is an awesome guide! Funny personality, very caring, great service and went above and beyond his way to give us the best experience. He kept us fed very well sneaking us extra rice and dahl baht every dinner . He organised great accomodation for us to be well rested and prepared for our big days and negotiating great prices. He took us literally every step of the way from our accomodation in Thamel to Mu Gumpa in Tsum valley to 5106m on Larke Pass. Through our tiredness, excitement, boredom, awe of nature, our best and not so best. It’s truly been a great adventure with Moti from ‘Touch the Himalaya’, and to not only have just a guide but gained a a great friend through this experience. To Moti, a very dear and heartfelt THANKYOU bro”

Touch the Himalaya, the people and its culture
“November 2025 I have done the Langtang- Gosainkunda -Helambu trek in 16 days organized by the agency Touch the Himalaya Trek & Expedition. Madan Neupane, director of the trekking agency is a friendly and trustworthy person who has a lot of experience in trekking, especially because he has been walking all the treks by himself. He is a great source of information and listened well to my personal wishes! Madan, thanks a lot for your warm welcome with the milk teas at your office and the time you spend in answering all my specific questions. I warmly recommend you and your trekking agency Touch the Himalaya Treks & expedition. In particular I like to mention my guide/porter Ram Adhikari who accompanied me 16 days during the trekking, he is a sincere and pleasant person and is able to communicate in English well. Ram, thank you for your accompany, I really liked the time (and interesting talks about Nepal and ) we had together. I warmly recommend you as a guide/ porter!”

The whole experience was amazing!
“The whole experience was amazing! We were happy to have our guide with us, he was full of knowledge and we felt safe with him. He was almost like part of our family, we could talk honestly and have fun together. The whole trek was well planned and they happily agreed to change things if needed. I would advise Touch The Himalaya to anyone who wants to go trekking as it satisfied all of our expectations.”

“We did the Manaslu circuit for two weeks. Everything went very well, the scenery was beautiful. Everything was very well organized, Madan was always available and even helped us after the trek. Our guide Roshan was flexible according to our desires and managed to make us comfortable despite random weather. Kind and funny, thanks to him we were always the first served at the table in the hotels 😂 Thank you again for this beautiful memories and superb experience. We recommend with your eyes closed.”
