Trek through the remote Tsum Valley’s ancient Buddhist culture, then circle the majestic Manaslu massif on this epic 19-day Himalayan journey.
Nestled in the shadow of the world’s eighth-highest peak, the 19 Days Tsum Valley & Manaslu Circuit Trek offers a rare blend of spiritual solitude and alpine grandeur. This journey begins in the hidden Tsum Valley, a sacred enclave where Tibetan Buddhism has flourished for centuries, and then loops around the towering Manaslu massif—a route that remains one of Nepal’s most pristine and less-traveled trails. For trekkers seeking both cultural immersion and raw mountain beauty, this expedition is a masterclass in contrast.
From the moment you step into Tsum Valley, you are transported to a world of ancient monasteries, prayer-flag-draped passes, and warm hospitality from the region’s indigenous communities. The trail then transitions into the rugged Manaslu Circuit, where you’ll cross the challenging Larkya La Pass at over 5,100 meters, offering panoramic views of peaks like Manaslu, Himlung, and Cheo Himal. Each day unfolds with new landscapes—from lush rhododendron forests to arid, high-altitude deserts—creating a visual and emotional narrative that few treks can match.
This 19-day itinerary is designed for experienced trekkers who value authenticity and are willing to embrace the demands of remote, high-altitude travel. With careful pacing, it allows for proper acclimatization while ensuring you experience the full spectrum of the region’s wonders. Whether you’re drawn by the spiritual heritage of the valley or the challenge of the circuit, this trek delivers an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Himalayas.
For trekkers with extra time, the Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit can be seamlessly extended to include the Annapurna Circuit, which shares a similar high-altitude crossing at Thorong La Pass. Alternatively, a side trip to the sacred lakes of Birendra Tal and the hot springs at Tatopani offers a soothing conclusion to your adventure. Nearby, the Ganesh Himal Base Camp trek provides a shorter yet equally rewarding detour, while the cultural richness of the Kathmandu Valley—with its UNESCO World Heritage sites—makes an ideal pre- or post-trek addition. These options allow you to deepen your Himalayan experience without compromising the solitude and authenticity of the main journey.

Drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola
Your journey begins with an early departure from Kathmandu, heading west along winding roads through vibrant villages and terraced farmlands. The drive follows the turquoise Budi Gandaki River, passing Arughat and Soti Khola as the landscape shifts from bustling towns to remote settlements.

“"Highly recommend this company.! We booked our Manaslu Circuit hike in the main office in Kathmandu, after going round a few different companies we settled for Manaslu Guides because this one just felt right. Having spoke with the owner in the office he tailor-made a trek for our needs. Madan, the owner is really helpful and honest and a pleasure to meet. We completed the Manaslu Circuit yesterday with our guide Bikram who was amazing! Such a lovely guy really and a great guide. We really felt comfortable with him and we learnt alot from him, and even gained a friend. We couldn't have asked for a guide more suited to us. Bikram is a humble guy and made us smile every day, and he even played the wooden flute at different times on the hike, sometimes in the morning and when we reached beautiful spots on the hike which really elevated our experience in such dramatic landscapes. We cannot praise him enough. We loved the trek and with Bikram, it made it even more special. Thanks again!" Date of experience: March 2026”

Genuine, human, physical challenge
“Thank you very much to Madan, and to Kedar for their kindness and professionalisms! we left for the trek of Manaslu but ill health forced me to be repatriated by helicopter to the hospital of Kathmandu. They accompanied me from the beginning to the end. I even had the chance to do a scooter trek to Kathmandu with Kedar and visit a part of the city when the form was there. I can only recommend this serious agency with a really attentive guide!!!it always feels good when you are away from yours to have someone who reassures you and who is always positive! Fun but very serious I highly recommend...you can go with your eyes closed Vincent”

Highly recommended for anyone planning a trek in Nepal!
“We had the pleasure of doing the Manaslu Circuit trek with Touch The Himalaya Treks & Expedition and it was one of the best decisions of our trip to Nepal. From the very beginning, the terms of cooperation were clear and transparent. Communication via WhatsApp was fast and smooth, and everything was well organized, allowing us to fully focus on the trekking experience. We also had a porter who supported us throughout the trek, which made a big difference in comfort and allowed us to better enjoy the experience. Special thanks to our guide Roshan — he was professional, calm, and very attentive. At the same time, he was extremely positive and easy to talk to, always engaging with us and explaining what to expect each day of the trek. Thanks to him, we felt comfortable, safe, and well taken care of throughout the entire journey. The agency is reliable, well-organized, and truly cares about its clients. Everything went exactly as planned. ”

Extremely Hospitable!
“I stayed in one of Madan (the owner's) homestays for 3 weeks. He was extremely accommodating and even invited me to have meals with his family a number of times. He went above and beyond to help situate me in Kathmandu as well as helped schedule a guide and transportation for me in Pokhara. It seems he truly cares about his tenants and trekkers.”

Everest base camp trek
“This is not my first choice of Touch the Himalayas. Having good experience of one-day trip around Kathmandu last year, and based on the experience of my friends, we chose this firm again for Everest BC and Gokyo lakes individual trek. I admire director of firm Madan and his ability to meet all client expectations. Madan helped us to prepare for the trip, resolved our queries and offered complements after trek (such as massage and farewell dinner). Despite of some unpleasant weather conditions, this was wonderful trek and wonderful experience with a lot of sweet memories I also appreciate the efforts of our dear guide and porter during the trek we were the best team ever I do reconnect Touch the Himalayas to organize your trek in Nepal or ever in neighboring countries.”

Time of our lives on the Manaslu Circuit + Tsum Valley Trek
“An absolutely life-changing experience, could not have asked for anything to go better than it did. We did the Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley trek in a bit over 2 weeks and had plenty of time to soak it all in, some bigger days to push ourselves and some more chill days to rest and relax. It was a perfect time to go if one can stand the cold, as we pretty much had the trail to ourselves but of course we also made some lovely friends. Our guide Moti was extremely kind, caring and helpful and we had the best time enjoying the scenes and breaking out into dance. Thank you to him for making our trip so amazing and also special thanks to Madan for helping us organise everything so easily too before we headed off.”
